To precede the release of their second album, "Favourite Worst Nightmare", the Arctic Monkeys will hit the road on the 9th April to tour the UK.

They will perform 11 dates in total, including two at the London Astoria and two at the Sheffield Leadmill.

The full set of dates is as follows:

Monday 9th April Guildhall, Southampton
Tuesday 10th April University Great Hall, Exeter
Thursday 12th April Astoria, London
Friday 13th April Astoria, London
Saturday 14th April Academy, Liverpool
Monday 16th April Academy, Newcastle
Tuesday 17th April Caird Hall, Dundee
Wednesday 18th April Barrowlands, Glasgow
Friday 20th April Academy, Birmingham
Saturday 21st April The Leadmill, Sheffield
Sunday 22nd April The Leadmill, Sheffield

Tickets go "on sale" on Friday the 16th March, and to ensure you get yours, you must be signed up to the Arctic Monkeys mailing list before 7pm Wednesday (GMT).

Then, a random selection of people will be chosen who will then be provided with a PIN and be allowed to buy their tickets.

This measure is to ensure that only geniune fans purchase tickets, not the ticket touts.

We are trying hard to fight against touting and therefore invite you to take part in a fair ballot to get tickets for this tour. The mailing list will close at 19.00 on Wednesday the 14th of March. You will then all be mailed and asked to register for one venue and date only including your age and postal address.

The new single 'Brianstorm' aired for the first time tonight on Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1.
You can find the lyrics for the single here.

Arctic Monkeys to Play Parr Hall, Warrington

Another "secret" gig announced today.

The Arctic Monkeys will play Parr Hall, Warrington tomorrow, Wednesday 28th February. Tickets will also be on sale from midday tomorrow.

You can only obtain two tickets per person from the box office only.

Cash sales only.

Arctic Monkeys will play Middlesbrough Town Hall on Tuesday 27th February 2007.

Tickets will be available from mid day on Tuesday 27th February.
